Decorative Concrete

Anytime concrete is used in a way that deviates from its standard form it is considered decorative concrete. Including but not limited to adding colors, textures and patterns.

Delamination

A separation of a coating or topping from a substrate or the layers of a coating from each other due to poor adhesion. Or in the case of a concrete slab, a horizontal splitting or separation of the upper surface.

Densifier

Is a chemical applied to a concrete surface in order to fill pores, increasing surface density. Chemical densifiers are used on polished and non-polished concrete to reduce dusting and wear; on polished concrete surfaces densifiers help concrete take a better polish and make the surface less permeable to liquids so the slab does not require sealing.

Diamond Grinding

A multi step process associated with polished concrete which utilizes diamond pads that vary in aggressiveness and are used in succession to create a smooth polished surface.

Dry Shake Color Hardener

Pigmented Portland cement that is mixed with sand which is broadcast onto a concrete surface to add color and increase surface density.
