Are you having issues with sealer near the saw cuts? Is the sealer blushing out? This technique is simple but a very important step to ensuring best possible outcome for your sealer application. Standing water or water in the saw cuts could be causing your sealer to blush out. This problem is adding extra time to the job or maybe an extra trip out.

First step to cleaning the surface is to pressure wash and make sure the dust & debris are removed from the cuts. Now your surface is clean, but you have some standing water and water in the saw cuts. Best practice is to remove all visible standing water before leaving for the day. You will be back the following day to seal the surface and you don't want any water to stand in your way.

Remove water from the surface and cuts with a leaf blower. Blow out all excess water from cuts after final wash. Then blow off any standing water from the rest of the surface. When you return the following day, your concrete surface should be clean and free of any moisture. If not check out our Reduce Moisture Issues when Sealing Concrete blog post. This is one extra step you can take to minimize headaches with sealer.
